Christmas Morning

All is peaceful. I just watched the sun come up here in New England. It is cold outside, but it is as it should be for this time of the year. While I am having my first cup of Earl Gray for the day, I feel it is the perfect time to sit and send my Victorian friend good wishes. I wish you and your family peace and harmony for the day and the up and coming year.
With much admiration, Lady Estelle

Settling In to my new Job!

I was a little worried about taking this new position in the hotel. After working in Banquets for 23 years, It had become home.
But now, I have a new home. Welcome to the Concierge.
My first couple of weeks in trainning was a challege, but now it's like a new skin. I am loving the experience.
My responsibility is to assist the platinum and gold key members to a great start breakfast and send them on their way happy.. I greet them very early in the am around 6. I give them a healthy breakfast with a smile and good wishes for the day.

It is quite peaceful setting up in the morning. I am the only attendant and it feels like home. This is the perfect job for me and I am settling in nicely.

Spring is here and I am happy!

I woke up today feeling very grateful. The sun was shinning through the windows. I love how it shines on my computer. It makes me want to sit down with a cup of coffee and share my thoughts with you.

I have heard so many for my friends troubles about their poor health, losing their jobs and not knowing where to turn from day to day. They are feeling alone and confused. How do you help them?
I am so fortunate, that I contribute my strength to my children. Not many can say that.
I wish them the best and I will pray for them.

Spring is my favorite time of year, but it is so short. It's like life. You must enjoy it to the fullest now, because it can and will be come to and end without you even knowing.it. Take a hold of the day and use it to help others. Try not to be so much about woe-is- me and be about what-can-I-do-for-you! It will make you happy.

Happy Spring!

Victorian Lady On A Crusade!

As you may know, I have a passion for the days gone by, especially the 19th century. Some say I spend to much of my time living in the passed. I can say some of that is true, but I am also a Crusader in the 21st century against a modern day disease called Breast Cancer. I have been in this war for eight year as a walker in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Boston, Mass. I take on the tact of walking for 2 days and raising $1800.00 to help with research to end the disease, hopefully  in my life time. This money also goes to women and men who have this disease and are not able to afford the medical burden. I feel I can make a difference now in the 21st century.

About the Avon Walk Boston

Boston has been called the biggest small town in America. The Avon Walk Boston will encompass many of this city’s most historical and famous sites May 14-15, 2011.

In a town made for walking, it’s a perfect way to experience the historic town’s winding and narrow streets, the shores of its famous harbor, and the vibrant New England neighborhoods that make Boston so unique.

IN IT for a purpose

We’ll walk up to 26.2 miles on Saturday, and 13.1 miles on Sunday—all so that women and men can get the medical care they need regardless of their ability to pay, and leading research teams can receive vital support in their ongoing search for a cure.
Please come and help me in my crusade by donating to the cause. Visit my Avon Walk Website to see how you can help.

I usually do not use my blog page to ask my readers and followers for anything but to enjoy, but my heart compels me  to reach out to you.

God Bless us all!
Donate here today and help me make my goal!

My Classmates of 1971

Scan0041_0041
This was a class reunion of 1971. I went to Mother Butler Memorial High School. This photo was taken about 20 years later. Can you find Me. Most of had not changed much since our school years, except we got a little older, most of us wear glasses now, some are married and hopefully a little wiser. I have not seen these girls in over 20 years now. I wonder how they are doing.

The New Me!

What I should say is the old me.

I did not want to relax my hair, so I had extension braided in the natural hair for the LAST 10 YEARS.

Well today, I finally cut all the extensions out and have gone all natural.
I love it. I love showing that I am all naturally gray .

January Snow Storm in Providence, RI

This is the big Rhode Island Snow Storm. 1.12.11.
I had to sleep over last night, in the hotel, so I would be there today to work ,it needed. It was a big one, but not enough to panic and keep all staff on deck. So,I came home today.
A view from the Providence Marriott Hotel window. Watch for the guy in his shorts.
What was he thinking. I guess he was not thinking at all!

Precious Moments!

The precious moments with your children are the most important times in your life. Make the time to enjoy them.

The young ones grow so fast. And before you know it , they are all grown up and go to live their lives on their own. Spend time looking at them , enjoying their innocence,

Share in their silliness, let them bring out the kid that is still in you. Let's them teach you how to play and enjoy life's little pleasures

Time is short and I goes by so fast.

.This is life and it is so Precious!

My New Year Kiss!

Why do we all kiss each other at the stroke of 12? Where did that come from?
Well after some research, here is what I found!
In some cultures, there is a tradition of kissing someone at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. When the clock strikes twelve couples embrace for a kiss to celebrate the upcoming year. Some hold the superstition that failing to kiss someone when the ball drops ensures a year of loneliness. Whether this is true or not, most people kiss their significant other in joyous celebration of the beginning of a new year.
When celebrating at a Scottish Hogmanay party, it is custom to try and give a kiss to everyone in the room after the stroke of midnight "the bells".

Welcome 2011!

I never make a New Year Resolution, but I am going to make one this year. It will be to take more time for myself. I am not saying that I am going to be selfish, but to not put myself on the back burner, like I have been doing. I really enjoy caring for me family, giving my all to my job, volunteering all my spare time to Hearthside and time at daily monitoring my websites and blogs. Somewhere in all of this, I have not spent any time to self improvement. My spiritual health is in need of repair. My physical health need a lot of attention.
After saying all that!
Happy New Year to all my readers and friends and keep healthy in 2011!
